UGC 12-B recognition soon to Satavahana university, says Bandi Sanjay

KARIMNAGAR: BJP Telangana state president and Karimnagar MP Bandi Sanjay Kumar has urged the University Grants Commission (UGC) to accord 12 B status to the budding Satavahana University.

Accordingly, the Karimnagar MP had met UGC Secretary and CVO Rajnish Jain on Friday in New Delhi and submitted a memorandum seeking UGC 12-B recognition to the Satavahana University, which was pending since its inception, and affecting its academic and research activities.
Following the MP’s representation, the UGC had constituted a committee to conduct a field visit, which is presently inspecting the Satavahana University and interacting with the heads of all departments and collecting feedbacks etc. The UGC Secretary Rajnish Jain had assured to expedite the process of sanctioning UGC 12-B to Satavahana University and also spoke to the requisition committee of UGC for early processing of the recognition.
Mr Sanjay said that the sanction of UGC recognition to Satavahana University would ensure more funding for research and developmental activities of the university. He also said that the university would also launch new courses and take up filling up of all vacant posts in the university and strengthen the administration and also academics.
