Sri Chaitanya school celebrates bonalu festival

 

KARIMNAGAR: Students of Sri Chaitanya school in Boyawada of Karimnagar town have celebrated the ‘bonalu’ festival with true spirit and traditions by praying to the goddess on the school premises on Saturday (July 23).

The girl students carrying the ‘bonams’ had captivated the gathering with their glittering attire and the boys donned the role of Potharajus and danced to the rhythmic beats. The girls offered bonams to the deities on the occasion with religious fervour.

School principal Padmaja explained the importance of celebrating the bonalu festival during the Ashadam month to protect the people from various ailments following the outbreak of diseases during the rainy season. Dean Tirumal, AO Manohar Reddy, teachers and others were also present.
