Siddartha Schools celebrate Bathukamma festival with a gusto
KARIMNAGAR, OCTOBER 13, 2023: Students of Siddartha High Schools in Mankammathota, Bhagathnagar and Choppadandi celebrated the Bathukamma festivities with a gusto on their respective school campuses in the district on Friday.
On this occasion, the students trained on the making of Bathukammas by arranging different varieties of flowers such as Thangedu, Gunugu, marigold, chrysamthemum and other flowers in a conical manner. They were given also given prizes for the best and beautifully decorated Bathukammas. They also made a huge size Bathukamma, which was a special attraction of the celebrations.
Incidentally, the students depicted several of Bathukamma celebrations conducted in Karimnagar, Adilabad, Medak and Khammam districrts by presenting their cultural forms to the treat of the eyes. The students presented cultural programmes depicting the traditions and culture of celebrating the Bathukammas from its making to its immersion in the waters and offering prayers to Goddess Gauri and presentation of various forms of Prasadams as an offering to the Goddess.
School Academic Director Dasari Sripal Reddy launched the celebrations by offering prayers to the Bathukammas. The students along with the teachers participated in the celebrations by dancing around the Bathukammas and singing songs. They also played ‘kolatam’ around the Bathukamma with lots of joy and enthusiasm.
