Seminar on 75 years of the Indian Economy concludes at Satavahana University

 

KARIMNAGAR: A two-day national seminar on 75 years of the Indian Economy organised by the Department of Economics, University College of Arts and Social Sciences, Satavahana University in Karimnagar, in association with the Indian Council of Social Science Research (ICSSR) concluded on November 10, 2022.

The valedictory function was attended by Prof N Lingamurthy, senior professor of Economics, and former Vice-Chancellor, of Kakatiya University, Warangal. Speaking on this occasion, he said the seminar discussions would be helpful to policymakers to frame the central and State government policies for the development of the nation.

Guest of honour Prof S Indrakanth, Former RBI Chair Professor, Visiting Professor CESS Hyderabad, explained changes that took place in food security from the food crisis to the surplus foodgrain production in the country. SU Registrar M Vara Prasad, University College of Arts and Social Sciences principal Dr Mohammed Jafer Jari, and seminar director Dr K Srivani also spoke on the occasion.

A total of four technical sessions were organised and several papers were presented at the seminar. Prof M Ramulu, Professor of Economics, Osmania University, Hyderabad, Dr K Anji Reddy, Associate Professor, Mahatma Gandhi University, Nalgonda, Dr K Ravinder Reddy, Associate Professor, Department of Applied Economics, Telangana University, Dr M Usha Rani, Vidyasagar, Rajendram, Thirupathi, Radhika, Kanthaiah, Srinivas, Fatima Sulthana Begum, Jamuna, Amol, Venkatesh and other faculty and M.A. Economic students and other discipline students attended.

The seminar was inaugurated on November 9, 2022, by SU Vice Chancellor S Mallesham. Telangana water resources development corporation limited chairman V Prakash Rao and others were also present.
