‘RRR’ only mantra to protect Earth from degradation

World Earth day celebrated at GDC women in Jagtial
JAGTIAL: Speakers at the World Earth Day programme stressed the importance of ‘RRR’ (Reuse, Recycle and Reduce) mantra to protect Mother Earth for future generations.
The government degree college for women in Jagtial town had organised International Earth Day on Friday. On this occasion, principal Dr Y Satyanarayana educated the students about the factors influencing the degradation of the earth through industrialisation, depletion of the ozone layer through pollution and extensive use of plastics.
IQAC coordinator Dr Harjoth Kaur emphasised the need to protect the Earth from pollution by taking up plantations. She said that every day should be treated as Earth Day to save the earth from degradation.
On this occasion, the students and faculty took a pledge to invest in our planet and save it. Faculty members M Satyaprakash, Dr Jyothilaxmi, Shankaraiah, A Rajani, P Tirupathi, Swaroopa Rani, Kiranmayi, Srilatha, Manasa, Sai Madhukar, Satyam, Sunitha, Madhavi, Tirupathi and others were also present.
