Primary Teachers to launch Bharath Bus Yatra from September 5 to October 5 demanding restoration of OPS
KARIMNAGAR, AUGUST 17, 2023: In order to pressurize the government for the restoration of Old Pension Scheme (OPS), the All-India Primary Teachers Federation (AIPTF) has decided to organise a Bharath Bus Yatra from September 5 (National Teachers day) to October 5, 2023 (World Teachers day) from four corners of the country.
A Bharath Bus yatra would be begin from Somnath in Gujarat, Attari border in Amritsar, Guwahati in Assam and Kanyakumari in Tamil Nadu state. The country-wide yatra would culminate at Talkatora stadium in Delhi on October 5, 2023 wherein a day-long event and public meeting would be held.
Primary Teachers Association (PTA) Telangana state president YS Sharma and General Secretary P Pardhasaradhi said that the Bharath Bus Yatra would enter Telangana state on September 16 at Jogulamba from neighbouring Kurnool of AP. It would traverse through Jadcherla and reach Hyderabad and proceed to Bidar in Karnakata state on September 17. He said that the PTA-T would accord a warm welcome to the Bharath Bus yatra in the Telangana state by carrying placards and posters.
Demanding the government for the restoration of the Old Pension Scheme (OPS), the PTA leaders said that they would also create awareness on issues facing the education sector and pressurize the government to act and protect the Education sector.
