Play throws light on plight of farmers at Vivekananda Vidyanikethan School
KARIMNAGAR: Students of Vivekananda Vidyanikethan High School in Bhagathnagar of Karimnagar town have staged a Telugu play “Rythu Ghosa” as part of the closing ceremony of week-long Republic day celebrations amid replica of Red Fort in the background on the school premises on Sunday night (January 29, 2023).
The play, structured in a rural ambiance, was the dramatic adaptation of the life of the farming community, who were facing umpteen problems while doing agriculture such as non availability of remunerative price for their produce fake pesticides, fake fertilizers and fake seeds and incurring into huge debts etc.

The play brought into focus various genuine problems of poor farmers constrained to even commit suicides. The audience relished the socially relevant play as students gave their best. The farmers, who also attended the programme, turned emotional when the students enacted their plight in a play.
School chairman S Komuraiah said that ‘it was a small attempt to raise awareness about the issues of the farmers, who are in distress”. He congratulated the students for their scintillating performance. On this occasion, the school chairman felicitated the farmers Boddula Mallaiah, D Laxma Reddy, Chitham Karthik, Sampath, Boddula Devender, Ekula Raju, Bommana Parashuram, Jangili Rakesh, Bomma Ramesh and Jangili Praveen by presenting them with a memento and a citation.
