Over 95 per cent attendance for NEET in Karimnagar

KARIMNAGAR: The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) went off peacefully in Karimnagar town on Sunday with 95.2 per cent registered candidates sitting for it.
A total of 5379 students had registered for the examination and 5120 students appeared on the test and only 259 abstained for various reasons. The examination was conducted in 10 centres in various parts of the district.
Students had followed the mandatory Covid norms of wearing a facemask, carrying sanitisers and maintaining social distance while entering the examination centres. The authorities manning the centres had also thoroughly screened the candidates before entering the examination centre. The medical staff had carried the thermal scanning to screen the students if they were having temperature before entering the examination hall.
NEET district coordinator and Vivekananda Residential School principal T Lalitha Kumari said that the examination passed off peacefully without any untoward. She thanked the students and their parents for helping the conduct of the examination smoothly without causing any inconvenience to the students and others.
