Osmania University announces PhD to JITS English faculty Prasannalatha

KARIMNAGAR: Osmania University has awarded Doctorate to Jyotishmathi Institute of Technology and Sciences (JITS) autonomous, Karimnagar, English faculty member Koodala Prasannalatha for her research on the topic “Developing the Reading and Writing Skills in the Zilla Parishad Secondary School students in Karimnagar district”

The PhD was done under the supervision of Prof J Savitri, Head, Department of English, Osmania University. She presented her research thesis with an in-depth study of the reading and writing skills of ZPHS students. She designed a 40-hour intervention programme with Activity Based Learning to develop the reading and writing skills among the students of Zilla Parishad Secondary School in Karimnagar district.

She used the tools – cross-tabulation, chi-square test and one-way ANOVA from SPSS (Statistical Package for Social Sciences ) in her Thesis. Her Thesis presented that Language skills can be enhanced through Activity based learning.

On this occasion, Prasannalatha said that her highest goal is to serve the rural poor students studying in government schools. She has been a role model for many of her students as an English language teacher for the last two decades with a passion for teaching the English language. Faculty members of the JITS, students, her husband Guggila Ramesh, daughter Hamsini, son SriRanav and other family members congratulated her.
