NSS volunteers playing a greater role in nation-building, says SRR college in-charge principal Himabindu

KARIMNAGAR: Karimnagar based SRR government arts and science college in charge Principal and head department of Chemistry M Himabindu has lauded the services of National Service Scheme (NSS) volunteers called upon them to play a responsible to build a vibrant society by serving the nation.

Participating in the NSS foundation day celebrations on the college premises in Karimnagar town on Friday, she said that the NSS volunteers were rendering valuable services to the society. They were playing a crucial role in creating awareness among the rural masses on various socio-economic issues, she said and added that the participation in the NSS activities was also helping the students develop the leadership qualities to excel in their careers.
Himabindu recollected the NSS volunteers’ services for the beautification of their college under the Swachch Bharath programme. She urged upon the student community to take up ‘national service’ and strive for national development. She also hailed the NSS volunteers for their role in the protection of Mother Nature by actively participating in the plantation of saplings in the college and other places in the district.
Staff secretary A Srinivas, IQAC coordinator Kumar, NSS programme officers Varaprasad, DD Naidu, A Narayana and B Suresh Kumar have also empowered the NSS volunteers about their role in the nation-building. Faculty members T Shankar, Laxminarasaiah, Satish Kumar, NSS Republic day parade volunteer Gnan Kumar and others were also present.
