National Sports Day and Telugu official language Day observed
KARIMNAGAR, AUGUST 29, 2023: Arvintree High School, Vasudeva colony, Bhagathnagar, Karimnagar town, celebrated the National Sports Day and Telugu Official Language Day celebrations to commemorate the birth anniversaries of hokey legend Major Dhyan Chand and prominent linguist and social reformed Gidigu Venkata Rammurthy respectively on Tuesday.
On this occasion, the students participated in various activities including paying tributes to both Dhyan Chand and Venkata Rammurthy. The students also spoke on eminent sportspersons of the country and how they were excelling in different streams of sports. They also participated in a drill and aerobics educating the importance of participating in sports and staying fit and healthy.
Similarly, the students presented cultural programmes highlighting the importance of Telugu language and its sweetness. School chairman B Ramana Rao said that Gidugu Ramamurthy is renowned for simplifying the Telugu script, which was highly complex and difficult to learn for the common people during his time. Director B Vijaya Lakshmi and others were also present.
