Manakondur MLA awarded PhD and gold medal by Potti Sriramulu Telugu University

Balakishan submitted thesis on “Telangana Rashtra Sadhanalo Malividatha Samskruthika Udyamam- Dhoom-dham patra” (Cultural movement during the second phase of Telangana statehood movement and role of Dhoom-dham). He also secured Acharya Tumeti Gonappa gold medal for his project.

 

KARIMNAGAR: Telangana State Cultural Council Chairman and Manakondur legislator Erpula Balakishan popularly known as Rasamayi Balakishan has been awarded PhD and gold medal in Folk Arts by the Potti Sriramulu Telugu University in Hyderabad on Wednesday (July 20).

Balladeer, singer, poet and also founder of Telangana Dhoom Dham, Mr Balakishan played crucial role during the second phase of Telangana state movement under the leadership of TRS founder and Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao.

He has presented a thesis for PhD on “Telangana Rashtra Sadhanalo Malividatha Samskruthika Udyamam- Dhoom-dham patra” (Cultural movement during the second phase of Telangana statehood movement and role of Dhoom-dham). For his thesis, the University presented him with Acharya Tumeti Gonappa gold medal.

At a convocation conducted at Ravindra Bharathin Hyderabad on Wednesday (July 20), Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan presented the gold medal and PhD to Rasamayi Balakishan. Telugu University Vice Chancellor Dr Anoomandla Bhoomaiah and others were also present.

In the meantime, the TRS leaders in the Manakondur celebrated the achievement of their legislator by distributing sweets. The local poets and cultural artists have congratulated the legislator for completing PhD and also winning a gold medal for his thesis.
