Libraries are Repositories of Knowledge, says GDC Sircilla principal Dr Vadluri Srinivas
RAJANNA-SIRCILLA, NOVEMBER 15, 2023: The Libraries are storehouses of knowledge and human intelligence develops only by reading books, opined Dr Vadluri Srinivas, Principal, Government Degree College, Sirclla.
Speaking after inaugurating a special book exhibition on the occasion of the 56th National Library Week celebrations organised under the auspices of the library department of the College on Wednesday, he said that only by reading books, perfect personality develops in students. He stated that reading books is like an exercise for the mind. Expressing concern over the present generation youth getting addicted to the social media like cell phone, internet, TV and cinema, he advised the students to use them only for their educational and knowledge development purposes.
College Librarian Dr V Venkateshwarlu said that since 1968, National Library Weeks have been organized in our country to create awareness about libraries and to cultivate the reading habits among the people. He said that on the occasion of National Library Week, book exhibition, essay writing, book review, poetry writing and other competitions are goint to be organized for the students under the auspices of the college library. On this occasion, a special book exhibition organized in the college impressed the students and teachers.
