Karimnagar DCCB CEO to visit Philippines on an exposure visit to study enhancing agricultural value chain
KARIMNAGAR, OCTOBER 20, 2023: Karimnagar District Cooperative Central Bank (DCCB) CEO N Satyanarayana Rao would be visiting Philippines country on a training-cum-exposure visit on “Initiatives towards enhancing Agricultural Value Chain (AVC) Financing, Philippines experience” from November 20 to 26, 2023.
The first of its kind overseas exposure visit being organised by NABARD through the Bankers Institute of Rural Development (BIRD), Mangaluru in collaboration with the Asia-Pacific Rural and Agricultural Credit Association (APRACA-CENTRAB), Manila, Philippines to encourage the concept of Agricultural value chain to improve farmers’ incomes and livelihood situation by linking producers to processors and markets.
The training objective includes; explain the concept of value chain financing in agriculture; understand the regulatory framework and enabling policy Framework of AVC financing – features, models, types of credit products; learn the salient features of Sustainable AVC financing for smallholder agricultural production in the Philippines, extent of participation of small farmers ; narrate the initiatives, strategy and best practices in AVC financing in Philippines; list the existing commodity-specific AVCs in the Philippines and delineate the challenges, opportunities and prospects; explain the infrastructure support for AVC development and financing; identify the possibilities of replication of good practices in India for vibrant AVC financing
