JITS student bags gold medal from JNTUH

JITS bagged eight gold medals including six from JNTUH and two foundation medals

JITS only engineering college to secure NAAC ‘A’ grade

Celebrating its silver jubilee in 2022

 

KARIMNAGAR: A student of the Jyothismathi institute of technology and sciences (JITS) in Karimnagar town has bagged a gold medal from JNTUH, who passed out during the academic year 2019-2020.

Gangadhara Srikanth (bearing hall-ticket number 16271AD143) of Civil engineering department had secured 8.78 CGPA and secured gold medal in the category of Best outgoing student of B Tech Civil Engineering out of all affiliated colleges of the JNTUH. The gold medal would be presented to him at the 10th convocation of the university very soon.

Congratulating the student, JITS chairman J Sagar Rao and secretary J Sumit Sai had handed over financial assistance of Rs 1 lakh for his higher education and bringing reputation to the college by securing the gold medal in academics. Srikanth is presently pursuing his M Tech in NIT Warangal.

Disclosing this to newsmen here on Monday, JITA Academic Advisor Dr PK Vaishali said that Gangadhara Srikanth could achieve the gold medal from JNTUH because of strong academic foundation in the college. She said that the JITS was the only engineering in Telangana state to bag eight gold medals including six from JNTU and two foundation gold medals.

Student Srikanth has attributed his achievement for the dedicated teaching faculty and discipline in the college with fully equipped library and laboratories in the college. He thanked his teachers and college management for transforming him to secure the gold medal in academics.

College training and placement officer Vishwa Prakash Babu said that the JITS established in the year 1997 had emerged the best engineering college in the Telangana for all-round development of students and their placements. The College, which would be celebrating its silver jubilee year in 2022, was the first engineering in the district to secure NAAC ‘A’ grade certification recently.

IQAC coordinator Dr Laxmi Rajashekhar, HoDs G Sridhar, V Neelima, Dr Rajesh Guna, Radhika Reddy, Chandana R, Prasanna Latha and others were also present.
