KARIMNAGAR: In the wake of ensuing World Environment Day celebrations on June 5, the Botany department and Eco-club of the Government degree college for women in Karimnagar town conducted a painting and essay writing competitions for the students on Saturday.
As per the instructions of the Commissioner for Collegiate Education and Environment Protection Research and Training Institute (EPTRI), the NSS unit had conducted the Essay writing competition on the theme of “Hydrogen as an Alternative to Fossil Fuels: Why It Is Useful to the World Environment” and the Painting Competition on the theme of “Only One Earth”.
A total of 32 students participated in the competitions and the faculty members selected the best three entries in each category. Winners of essay writing competition include; P Sowmya (BZC third year), M Akanksha (B com first year) and Saba Syeda Begum (BA Third year). The painting competitions winners are; P Akanksha (BZCA third year), Madhumitha (Bt BC second year) and Rashi Khanna (MPC first year).
