GDC (w) Assistant Professor honoured with State Best Teacher Award
KARIMNAGAR, SEPTEMBER 05, 2023: National Service Scheme (NSS) Programme Officer of the Government Degree College for women, Karimnagar, Dr T Lavanya received the prestigious state best college teacher from Deputy Chief Minister Mohammed Mahmood Ali and Education Minister P Sabitha Indra Reddy in the presence of Intermediate Education Commissioner Navin Mittal at an official programme organised at Ravindra Bharathi in Hyderabad on Tuesday on the occasion of Teacher’s Day celebrations to commemorate the birth anniversary of educator and philosopher Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan.
Dr Lavanya, is presently incharge Head department of Commerce and Computer Applications and Assistant Professor of the women’s college. She is also coordinator of Entrepreneur Development Cell (EDC) of the college and taking several measures by imparting various skills to the women students for taking up self-employment opportunities. She is also playing crucial role as NSS programme officer by participating in several social service programmes and adopting the villages and striving for their development. She is also educating the women students for their overall personality development by helping them to participate in community service programmes through NSS.
A student of Giriraj Government degree college in Nizamabad, she completed her M Phil and PhD from Kakatiya University. She was degree college lecturer through APPSC in the year 2011. Incidentally, she secured her first posting in her own college she was studied. She is working in GDC (w) Karimnagar town since 2017.
