KAKINADA (AP), MAY 29, 2023: Coromandel International Limited on Monday formally launched two community initiatives in the Kakinada city which includes inauguration of an RO water plant at BC colony and two additional classrooms at the Government high school in Vakalapudi.
Coromandel believes in the welfare of all its stakeholders and regularly works on various CSR activities in Kakinada. Since the year 2014, Coromandel has been supporting the Kakinada General Hospital Paediatric ward by providing and maintaining the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and Neo-Natal Intensive care unit for the infants. Coromandel also provides affordable medical care to the society through Coromandel Hospital at Kakinada. In addition to medical support, Coromandel is running a programme for providing scholarships for 130 girls in Kakinada, supporting the infrastructure development in seven government schools of Kakinada by providing them with safe drinking water, hand wash stations, toilets, classrooms etc. Coromandel has also supported the women’s self-help groups by providing tailoring machines and training to the groups and improved the community infra structure in nearby villages by constructing 2 Community Halls and Anganwadi centres.
The community initiative inaugurations were done in the presence of senior officials from Coromandel International Limited including Mr Amir Alvi, EVP & Head – Manufacturing (Fertilizers), Mr Srinivasa Rao, Senior AVP & Head – Manufacturing (Kakinada); Mr G. S. V. Raja, AVP & HR Head – Manufacturing (Fertilizers & SSP); Mr Rangakumar K., AVP – HR; Mr. K. Satyanarayana, VP & Head – Corporate Relations & Institutional Sales and Ms. Amrita Shrivastava, DGM – CSR.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr AmirAlvi said,”At Coromandel, we understand the importance of community building and the need to carry out activities focusing on the sustainability of the environment and long-term investment into the local communities. We believe in working with the local society by building an inclusive environment, thereby developing healthy relationships with locals. We ensure that the local bodies are engaged, consulted and heard regularly in order to achieve the success of any initiative we plan for the betterment of the community. This way, we co-create solutions with the community, i.e. involve the local bodies rather than taking a top-down approach. We as a company believe in establishing healthy soil and balanced crop nutrition to help the farmers in achieving higher farm productivity and good investment returns”.

Also, we have recently developed Nano DAP at our R&D center at IIT Bombay and have obtained all necessary regulatory approvals for the same.
