Bhagavathi students remember Mahatma Gandhi

KARIMNAGAR, OCTOBER 2, 2023: Students of Bhagavathi High School, Bhagathnagar, Karimnagar town, remembered the Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi on the occasion of his birth anniversary on Monday.

On this occasion, the students paid floral tributes to the portrait of Mahatma Gandhi. Similarly, the students also paid tributes to former Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Sastri on the occasion of his birth anniversary. The students recollected how Mahatma Gandhi led India’s freedom movement along with other national leaders against the British rule. His method of non-violence which inspired many civil rights movements across the world. It may be recalled that the United Nations observes Gandhi jayanthi on October 2 as International day of Non-violence. The students also presented colourful cultural programmes enlightening the students about Mahatma Gandhi and his role in the freedom struggle.

School chairman B Ramana Rao called upon the students to follow the path shown by Mahatma in these testing times. Speaking on the relevance of Gandhi, he maintained that the principles of Swadeshi, Swachhta and Sarvodaya have become all the more relevant in the present world.  School Director B Vijaya Lakshmi and others were also present.
