Minister distributes national flags in Bhagathnagar

Freedom run on August 11 with 30,000 people in Karimnagar town

 

KARIMNAGAR: In order to create awareness about “Har Ghar Tiranga” (celebrating the diamond jubilee of Indian independence), the students of Bhagavathi high school in Bhagathnagar in Karimnagar town have played their role by educating people to hoist the national flag on top of their houses from August 13 to 15.

Accordingly, the students took out a rally in the Bhagatnagar locality by carrying the national flags on Tuesday (August 9) and raised the slogans of “Bharath matha ki jai and Har Ghar tiranga”. They informed the residents to hoist the national flags being distributed free of cost by the district administration and other agencies.

Bhagavathi schools chairman B Ramana Rao called upon the students to propagate the virtues of freedom struggle and sacrifices made by the freedom fighters for the cause of liberation of the country from the clutches of Britishers. He informed them to play a responsible role during the Diamond jubilee celebrations of Indian independence by participating in all activities. Correspondent B Vijayalaxmi, and faculty members were also present.

Earlier, Minister for Civil Supplies and BC Welfare Gangula Kamalakar along with Mayor Y Sunil Rao and others launched the distribution of national flags to the residents of the locality. As part of the Diamond jubilee celebrations, the district administration had planned a massive freedom run in Karimnagar town on August 11 with 30,000 people.

The Freedom run would be organised from Court cross roads to the Indira chowk in Karimnagar. All sections of the people were informed to participate in the run as part of the celebrations to promote patriotism.
