Alphores remembers Dhyan Chand, the Hokey Wizard, on his birth anniversary
KARIMNAGAR, AUGUST 29, 2023: Alphores e-techno school, Kothapalli, on the outskirts of Karimnagar town, on Tuesday, observed the National Sports Day to commemorate the birth anniversary of legendary hockey player Major Dhyan Chand, who had earned the moniker ‘The Wizard’.
On this occasion, Alphores educational institutions chairman V Narender Reddy paid floral tributes to the portrait of Dhyan Chand. He also enlightened the students about Chand’s legacy in hockey. He said that Mr Dhyan Chand helped India secure three gold medals in Olympics in hockey in the year 1928, 1932 and 1936.
Mr Reddy also called upon the students to participate in the sports for staying fit and healthy and become more physically active. He also lauded the students for actively participating in the sports and games conducted by the school recently. He also presented the certificates to the winners of various sports competitions.
