All set for Inter first year exams from Oct 25

WARANGAL: Elaborate arrangements have been made for the smooth conduct of Intermediate First year examinations from October 25 onwards adhering to the Covid-19 norms, said Minister for Education P Sabitha Indra Reddy.

At a video conference with the district collectors from Hyderabad on Thursday, she said over 4.5 lakh students were expected to write their examinations. Earlier, these students were promoted to the second year due to the pandemic covid virus. In order to follow the Covid norms, the examination centres have been increased to 1,750 and isolation rooms would be also arranged in all the centres, she said and added that they had roped in over 25,000 invigilators for the smooth conduct of exams.

She appealed to the managements of private junior colleges not to harass the students during the examination and cooperate with the government for the conduct of examinations. She said that they would allow students into the examination centres one hour before the start of exam. She also informed all the departments to coordinate for the smooth conduct of exams.

Collector Gopi said that the examination would be conducted in 25 centres and about 5,092 students would write the exams. The medical department was taking all measures for the sanitization of the centres and they would be using the screening the students with thermal scanners at all the centres. He also directed the electricity authorities to avoid power cuts during the examination time.
