Vehicle-lifting gang arrested, eight motorcycles recovered

PEDDAPALLI: The Ramagundam Commissionerate of Police have arrested four persons and seized eight stolen motorcycles from their possession in Godavarikhani on Thursday.
Disclosing this to media persons in Godavarikhani, Peddapalli DCP P Ravinder said that they had registered four vehicle-lifting cases in the Godavarikhani one town police station limits in a month period. Following this, Godavarikhani One town inspector Raj Kumar Goud has taken it a challenge and formed special teams to nab the culprits.
On credible information, the police arrested Poreddy Yashwanth Reddy (19), Syed Afsan Ahmed (21), Sheik Sameer (19) and Ayilapuram Raghupathi (19) all hailing from the Godavarikhani coal belt area. During the interrogation, the accused had confessed to committing the vehicle lifting in the coal belt region of Godavarikhani and Mancherial regions. The police recovered all eight motorcycles.
The accused had resorted to these acts to enjoy the lavish life and consume liquor etc. Main accused Yashwanth Reddy had earlier been involved in the housebreaking case in the coal belt. The accused persons after stealing the two-wheelers would mortgage the same and enjoy the money.
On this occasion, the police had informed the people to lock their vehicle safely inside the premises of the house and install CCTV cameras for surveillance and also detection of any kind of crime. ACP Giri Prasad, CIs S Raja Kumar Goud and G Ramesh Babu, ASI Mallaiah and constabulary staff were appreciated by the DCP for the early detection of the case.
