KARIMNAGAR: The Tamil Nadu State Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption (DVAC) officials, who visited the Karimnagar district on Thursday as part of its raids in 57 places at a time linked to former Minister and AIADMK leader KP Anbalagan, had reportedly seized documents and computer hard disks from various firms in and around Karimnagar town.
The DVAC officials from Tamil Nadu along with the support of Karimnagar local police raided the premises belonging to a ruling TRS party municipal corporator, who was acting their benami, and seized valuable documents and computer hard disks. The former AIADMK Minister had launched around 14 firms in Karimnagar and Hyderabad city including granite, stone crusher, a hot-mix plant and also real estate.
Incidentally, all the firms were registered in the name of former AIADML Minister’s daughter-in-law Vaishnavee Chandramohan and maintained by the ‘benamis’ albeit the TRS party leader in Karimnagar district. The sources said that the TRS corporator was at large after the raids by the DVAC officials of the Tamil Nadu state.
Sources said that the Tamil Nadu DVAC had conducted simultaneous raids in Chennai, Dharmapuri and Salem districts of Tamil Nadu and also in Karimnagar district in Telangana state. They said that they had not made any arrests in Karimnagar district. However, they had seized incriminating documents and computer hard disks for further investigations, they added.
