Three vehicle-lifters held, eight motorcycles and two autos recovered

NIZAMABAD: The Nizamabad Commissionerate of Police have arrested three vehicle-lifters and recovered eight stolen motorcycles and two auto-rickshaws worth over Rs 4.4 lakhs from their possession.
Disclosing this to newsmen in Nizamabad town on Monday, Commissioner of Police KR Nagaraju said that following the complaints about the stealing of two-wheelers and auto-rickshaws in various parts of the district, the police had constituted a special CCS team headed by Additional DCP Arvind Babu and intensified their patrolling and surveillance. Accordingly, on Monday morning when the police were conducting vehicle checking at Borgham under the Four town police station limits, they noticed an auto moving in suspicious circumstances.
When the police intercepted the vehicle, the accused persons tried to escape. However, the police chased them and nabbed and interrogated them, they had confessed the crime of stealing the two-wheelers and autos. The accused were identified as Shei Mujahid alias Sohail (19), Sheik Mohsin alias Lala (24) hailing from Nizamabad town and Sheik Mateen (24) from Maharashtra state. The accused stole locked vehicles by breaking open the locks and they were planning to sell the vehicles in Hyderabad.
The CP appreciated the CCS police for the detection of the crime and recovery of the stolen vehicles. He rewarded the CCS inspectors Srihari, Krishna and Muralikrishna, four town inspector Satyanarayana, SI Sandeep, CCS SI Venkataiah and other constabulary staff. Additional DCP Arvind Babu, Nizamabad ACP Venkateshwar and others were also present.
