Sixteen persons arrested in a driver’s murder case

KARIMNAGAR: The Karimnagar Commissionerate of Police have arrested 16 persons involved in the brutal murder of a lawyer’s driver in Nedunuru village of Thimmapur mandal recently and recovered two cars, a motorcycle, an axe, blood-stained clothes and 11 cellular phones.
Disclosing this to newsmen at LMD police station on Monday, Additional DCP (law and order) S Srinivas said that a car driver Nishani Tirupathi (42) was abducted from Gundlapalli village of Ganneruvaram mandal from a kirana shop on July 29 night in a car and later brutally axed him to death on the outskirts of Nedunuru village in the bushes. The main accused Goda Surender (45) presently residing in Sapthagiri colony in Karimnagar town had a deal with Vithanala Nagaraju (37) of Korutla mandal to commit the murder for Rs 1.5 lakh and collected Rs 1 lakh advance four months ago.
The police said that the land oustees compensation of LMD reservoir was the main issue for the murder. About 475 Nedunuru villagers had approached the lawyer belonging to the same village who filed a petition in the court for suitable compensation for losing their lands in LMD reservoir. Following the court intervention, the SRSP had agreed to pay Rs 12 core compensation in the year 2015 and deposited the same in the court.
So far, 200 villagers had secured the compensation and others were being delayed. The villagers, who did not secure compensation, suspected that the driver Tirupathi was obstructing the payment of compensation by telling to the lawyer. Main accused Surender and Vontela venkat Reddy (63) have decided to appoint another lawyer for getting compensation to remaining land oustes and collect more commission from them and decided to eliminate Tirupathi.
Accordingly, the main accused Surender, Pilli Satyanarayana (36) from Mallapur in Jagtial, Vithanala Nagaraju of Korutla, Kola Ramachander Rao (49) of Chintakunta from the outskirts of Karimnagar town have participated in the kidnap of Tirupathi and axing him to death in the bushes. Ramachander Rao and Nagaraju old criminals were friends when they were in jail. Satyanarayana and Nagaraju were also old criminals.
The 11 other persons arrested for assisting the murder include; Goda Srinivas, Goda Narender, Jannarapu Rajaiah, Nedunuru Yellaiah, Nedunuru Gangaraju, Goda Praveen, Pondurthi Tirupathi, Kalwa Sampath, Vontela Ganapathi Reddy, Vontela Venkat Reddy and Dadi Komuraiah.
Under the guidance of Karimnagar ACP Vijayasaradhi, Thimmapur CI Sashidhar Reddy , LMD SI P Pramod Reddy, Ganneruvaram SI Avula Tirupathi and others participated in the detection of the case. Commissioner of Police V Satyanarayana appreciated the police for detection of the crime and arrest of the culprits and announced rewards to the police personnel.
