SI of Police wins accolades for saving the life of an accident victim by providing CPR

ADILABAD: A Sub-Inspector of police from the interior police station of Adilabad district has won accolades by saving a life of an accident victim by providing CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation) in the interior Thosham village of Gudihathnoor mandal on Wednesday (July 27).
An unidentified vehicle had hit Sheik Farooq of Danthanapalli village in Thosham village on Wednesday afternoon. He was lying unconscious with injuries and the passersby were alerting ambulance services and sprinkling water. At this juncture, Indravelli SI D Sunil was proceeding from Adilabad to Indravelli and noticed the person lying on the road.
He immediately stopped and alighted from his vehicle and provided first aid by providing CPR. Later, he shifted the person to the government hospital in Gudihathnoor mandal in his own vehicle. For better treatment, the accident victim was shifted to the RIMS in Adilabad. As the video of providing CPR went viral on social media, the police officials and people of the district all praised the SI for his instant assistance to save a life.
The SI Sunil said that “We have been trained in techniques to control bleeding, handle seizures and react to symptoms of cardiac arrest. In case of road accidents, the victims are in a state of shock and there are chances of them suffering from cardiac arrest”. The training in CPR had helped him save a life of an accident victim, he said.
On the other hand, the netizens were all praised by the SI of Police for instant and prompt action to save a life of a person. The people appreciated the gesture of the SI and won over the confidence people that the “police are kind-hearted too”.
