KARIMNAGAR: Commissioner of Police V Satyanarayana has instructed the rowdy-sheeters to mend their ways and warned of serious action invoking PD Act if they further resort to illegal acts.
Reiterating that the rowdysim and illegal activities will not be allowed in the Commissionerate, the CP had also assured to remove the history sheets if they change their attitude and lead a normal life in the society.
The CP conducted a counselling programme for the history-sheeters of Karimnagar and Karimnagar rural divisions at Police headquarters on Wednesday. There are a total of 330 history-sheeters in both divisions. Among them, 31 are still in jail, 28 rowdy-sheeters were not attending the police stations for counselling and another 38 abstained from the counselling on Wednesday. They would conduct special counselling for the history-sheeters in the Huzurabad assembly segment very soon.
On this occasion, the Commissioner of Police said that they were closely observing the movements of history-sheeters involved in creating communal classes. He said that they were focussing on their activities to ensure smooth conduct of ensuing festivities and warned of serious action if they resort to any illegal activities and create problems.
Expressing concern over some of them abstaining from counselling, the CP said that they had constituted special teams to nab those persons and bound them over before the tahsildars within four days. If they appear before the police stations voluntarily, the punishment would be reduced, he stated. Additional DCP (law and order) S Srinivas, Additional DCP (admn) G Chandramohan, ACPs, Vijayasaradhi and Tula Srinivas Rao and others were also present.
