Post-Covid-gap, police check conditions of school and college buses in Karimnagar

KARIMNAGAR: In the backdrop of the reopening of schools after a gap of nearly 16 months, the Karimnagar Commissionerate of Police have launched a special drive of conducting fitness checking of all schools and colleges buses to ensure that they strictly comply with the roadworthiness.

As the buses of various private educational institutions were lying unused for more than 16 months due to covid-19 induced closure of institutions, Additional DCP (admn) G Chandramohan along with Traffic inspector G Tirumal had launched the checking of buses in the town on Thursday for the safety of the students and other road users in the Police Commissionerate limits.
The police officials have checked the bus drivers’ driving licences, fitness certificates of the vehicle and other compliances of the bus. The police authorities also checked the vehicle conditions by personally testing the vehicles. The police had informed the private educational institutions to comply with the road safety norms, the fitness of vehicles and safety of the student community.
