PD Act against seven accused of stealing cattle

PEDDAPALLI: The Ramagundam Commissionerate of Police have invoked the Preventive Detention (PD) Act against the seven accused persons involved in the stealing of cattle and brutally slaughter the animals by using axes and swords and sell its meat as wild animals meat in the Ramagundam police commissionerate limits.

The seven accused persons detailed at Cherlapalli Central jail include; Kummari Kalyan (30) Bellampalli mandal, Jadi Sagar (28) Jaipur mandal, Gaddala Rajashekhar (29) Jaipur mandal, Mohd Shakeer (24) Naspur mandal, Maredu Konda Ajay (30) Naspur mandal, Duguta Venkat Swamy (28) Bellampalli mandal and Jeelumotti Karthik Reddy (28) Godavarikhani.
The main accused Kummari Kalyan in order to easy money had resorted to this act from 2013 onwards and was involved in seven cases. In the year 2021, the accused persons had committed three offences of stealing the livestock. As there was no change in their attitude to lead a normal life, Ramagundam Commissioner of Police Chandrashekhar Reddy invoked PD Act and appreciated Jaipur ACP Narender, inspector Satish and SI Ramakrishna for the implementation of PD Act.
