One killed when RTC bus plunges into a gorge in Manthani hillocks

PEDDAPALLI: In a freak mishap, an RTC bus plunged into a gorge after hitting a car at Erragandi gutta on the outskirts of Eglaspur village of Manthani mandal on Wednesday morning.
The car driver died instantaneously and 13 other bus passengers including the bus crew sustained injuries. The condition of three persons is stated to be critical.
Reports reaching here said that the RTC belonging to Parkal depot (AP 36Z 0161) was proceeding from Bellampalli to Hanamkonda via Manthani. The car (TS 04 FC 9774) was coming towards Manthani town when the RTC bus hit and plunged into the gorge. The car driver Vineeth (22), working as a car mechanic in Manthani town was hailing from Khansaipeta village of the mandal.
The police rushed to the spot and shifted all the injured to the Manthani government hospital for treatment. The car was mangled into pieces and also plunged into the gorge due to the impact.
