Matka gambling den raided, eight persons arrested in Adilabad

ADILABAD: The Adilabad district police have busted a ‘Mutka’ gambling with the arrest of eight persons including the main accused and seizure of Rs 2.04 lakh cash, four mobile phones, a scorpio car, matka papers and charts etc from their possession.

Disclosing this to newsmen here on Friday, SP D Uday Kumar Reddy said that on credible information about the Matka gambling on the borders of the district at Pipparvada check post in Jainath mandal on Thursday night, the CCS police and the Special police parties raided the gambling places and arrested eight persons. The main accused Parsoya Ashok alias Samrat (60) was running the Matka gambling by appointing agents.

Other persons arrested include; Pandenwar Vilas (44), G Prashanth (39), B Santosh (55), K Ram (25), K Prakash (44), S Ravi (52) and D Shankar (48) belonging to Pandrakavada and Bhori villages in Maharashtra state. They were running the Matka gambling targeting gullible rural masses at Sridevi, Time bazaar, Milan, Kalyan and other locations in Adilabad town.

The SP said that they had cracked a whip against the Matka gambling dens in the district and so far registered 21 cases, arrested 50 persons and seized 3.16 lakh cash in Indervelli, Boath, Ichoda, Utnoor and Gudihathnoor police station limits.

People were informed to alert the police by dialing SB inspector J Krishna Murthy (9440619548) and CCS inspector Chandramouli (9440900635).  The raid on gambling den was conducted by Town DSP SSV Venkateshwar Rao, Jainath inspector Mallesh, the SB and CCS inspectors and others were also present.
