Maoists’ Naxalite of DCM cadre surrenders before CP in Karimnagar

KARIMNAGAR, MAY 12, 2023: Disillusioned with party ideology, Maoists Telangana state committee press incharge of DCM (district committee member) cadre rank Nerella Jyothi alias Jyothakka (38) has surrendered before Commissioner of Police L Subbarayudu on Friday.

Jyothakka, a native of Shivangulapalli village in Konaraopeta mandal in Rajanna-Sircilla district joined the Maoists in the year 2004 when she was studying Intermediate second at Government junior college, Sircilla. She went to her elder sister’s house in Adavipadira where she participated in a meeting organised by Maoist militants and joined the party through then-commander Raghu.

She worked in the Sircilla area for a few days and after the Manala encounter, she went to Mangi Dalam of Adilabad district. After the encounter in the Karrigutta area of Adilabad district in the year 2011, she went to Odisha state along with Jampanna and worked as a member of the press committee. She married one Erragolla Ravi alias Dinesh while working at the party and separated from him in 2012 as she could not bear his harassment. She worked for about 20 years in various ranks in Maoist Party in three states.

Attracted by the welfare schemes launched by the Telangana state government and developmental works taken up by the government, she had decided to surrender and lead a normal life by taking the rehabilitation package from the government. She would be provided with a reward amount of Rs 5 lakhs and a rehabilitation package and other compensation on behalf of the government, the CP said. Additional DCPs S Srinivas and G Chandramohan and others were also present.
