Man arrested with a pistol in Korutla and threatening villagers demanding ransom
JAGTIAL, JUNE 1, 2023: The Korutla police arrested a person on the charges of brandishing a pistol and threatening villages demanding ransom and seized an auto pistol made in the USA, two magazines, three rounds of KF 7.65 rounds, a cellular phone and a motorcycle.
Disclosing this to newsmen in Jagtial town on Thursday, Superintendent of Police Aggadi Bhaskar said that on credible information, the Korutla police conducted vehicle checking on the Ailapur to Korutla road on Wednesday evening. After noticing the police, the accused person took to heel. However, the police chased and caught him.
During the check, the police found the pistol and magazines, bullets in the vehicle. On interrogation, the accused named Sundaragiri Lakshmi Narsaiah (39), a native of Ailapur village in Korutla mandal, who was doing fruit business incurred losses to the tune of Rs 50 lakhs. In order to cover up his losses and earn money through easy methods, he procured the pistol from Mumbai through his friend Raju Bhai alias Gangaram, Narayana, Ramesh, Patel and Bittu at a cost of Rs one lakh.
After securing the weapon seven months ago, he threatened the villagers and demanded ransom. Following the credible information, the police waylaid and arrested the accused while checking the vehicle. The SP appreciated the Korutla DSP Ravinder Reddy, Korutla CI Praveen Kumar, SI Satish, constabulary staff Sathaiah, Santosh, Kesav, Sagar and Srinu for nabbing the person along with the weapon.
The other accused persons Raju Bai @ Gangaram (72), resident of Ailapur, Narayana, resident of Armoor and presently staying in Mumbai, Ramesh Bhai, Patil and Bittu alias Banti all residents of Mumbai are at large.
