Lake police rescue woman trying to commit suicide at LMD reservoir

KARIMNAGAR: The Karimnagar Lake police have rescued a married woman who wanted to commit suicide by jumping into the Lower Manair Dam reservoir on the outskirts of Karimnagar town on Sunday.

Police sources said that a 36-year-old married woman, who was having family disputes and financial problems, decided to commit suicide and was planning to enter into the reservoir waters. The patrolling police notice her and rushed to the spot and rescued her. The Lake police SI V Venkat Reddy summoned her husband and counselled both the couple to lead a happy normal life.

Commissioner of Police VB Kamalasan Reddy appreciated the Lake police and announced rewards. With this incident, the Lake police had rescued a total of 173 persons since the inception of the Lake police outpost at the LMD reservoir.
