Korutla police foil burglars bid to escape with stolen cash from SBI ATM

JAGTIAL:  In a swift action, the Jagtial district police have foiled the burglars bid to escape with the stolen cash of Rs 19 lakhs from an ATM in Korutla town in the wee hours of Sunday (January 15, 2023).

Sources said that some unidentified burglars had broken the ATM of the State Bank of India in Korutla town. Immediately, it raised an alarm and the bank staff dialed 100. The Korutla SI Satish, who received the call alerted the patrolling Blue Colts, who swung into action and rushed to the spot and hit the vehicle, which was carrying the cash from the ATM machine. The police also reportedly nabbed of the accused, who was trying to escape after the incident.

However, the police could not stop the speeding car. As the cash was strewn all around, the police collected all the cash and recovered entire stolen amount of Rs 19,00,200 from the spot. Jagtial DSP R Prakash constituted special teams to nab the accused persons. Further investigation is on.

In the meantime, Superintendent of Police Ch Sindhu Sharma congratulated the Korutla police for preventing the burglary. She congratulated the head constable Medi Rajaiah, constable Gattu Srinivas and private vehicle driver Madhu for the recovering of stolen cash.
