Four mobiles thieves arrested, 89 phones and 1.5 kg ganja seized

KARIMNAGAR, SEPTEMBER 21, 2023: The Karimnagar CCS police have nabbed four cellular phone thieves and recovered 1.5 kilograms of ganja, 89 cellular phones, Rs 45,000 cash, a car and an axe from their possession.

Following the credible information about the suspect movement of cellular phone thieves in the town, the CCS police along with Karimnagar one town police have launched the vehicle-checking at the RTC bus station area on Thursday. The police intercepted a car and found four persons moving in suspicious circumstances and during the checking of the vehicle, they found ganja, stolen cellular phones, cash and an axe.

During the interrogation, the accused Yellappa, Srinu, Shiva and Murali have confessed of stealing the mobile phones in the densely populated and buysy areas along with Chinna and Laxmi. The stolen cellular phones would be sold in other parts of the country. They had committed offences in Karimnagar, Vemulawada, Jagtial, Kamareddy and other localities of the Telangana state. They also procured ganja from Secunderabad and planning to sell the same in Nagpur of Maharashtra state. The two other accused Chinna and Laxmi were absconding and they would be nabbed soon.

CCS ACP Madhavi, Inspectors Linga Murthy and Pullaiah, SI Madhukar, head constable Surendra Pal, constables Raju, Tirupathi and Karimnagar one town SI M Swamy and others were also present.
