Dowry harassment case against Minister’s PRO

PEDDAPALLI: The Manthani police have registered a dowry harassment case against Minister for Roads and Buildings Vemula Prashanth Reddy’s PRO Thota Srikanth following the complaint lodged by his wife Thota Komala.
Police sources said that Thota Srikanth hailing from Edulapur village of Kalwa Srirampur mandal married Komala hailing from Gajulapalli village of Manthani mandal two years. Komala alleged that her husband Srikanth was demanding additional dowry and threatened her that no one can do anything against him as he was the Minister’s PRO and the police cannot do anything.
There were frequent quarrels between the couple over the dowry issue. The victim Komala alleged that she was beaten black and blue demanding additional dowry and she approached the police with injuries on Sunday. The police had shifted her to Manthani government hospital for treatment and registered a case under IPC 498A and investigating.
