HYDERABAD: A District Educational officer (DEO) and two others were trapped by the sleuths of Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) for demanding and accepting bribes for doing official favour in various parts of the state on Friday.
In Sangareddy district, DEO Nampalli Rajesh along with senior assistant Nakka Ramakrishna Goud were caught red-handed when they demanded and accepted a bribe of Rs 50,000 from a private school for giving No objection certificate (Noc) for the implementation of ICSE syllabus in the school. The accused had demanded Rs 1.1 lakh from the school management. The ACB trapped the DEO and senior assistant while accepting the first installment of Rs 50,000. The ACB arrested the DEO and senior assistant and produced before court for judicial custody.
In Jagtial district, the ACB authorities have trapped a village secretary Mara Vijayalakshmi for demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs 10,000 from a person for doing official favour pertaining to the clearance of NREGS bills in Rechapalli panchayat in Sarangapur mandal on Friday.
However, the village secretary said that she was meticulously planned trapped when she had not demanded or accepted the bribe. She alleged that the Laxmareddy had handed over Rs 10,000 and asked her to keep it for some time and he went to call the sanitary workers when the ACB authorities came and trapped her by doing chemical tests.
