CAF jawan killed in blasting by Maoists Naxalites in Bastar region of Chhattisgarh state
KARIMNAGAR: A Chhattisgarh Armed Force (CAF) jawan was killed when the suspected Maoists Naxalites triggered a powerful landmine blast at Tekri, one kilometre from Etepal camp under Meertur police station limits of Chhattisgarh state on Monday (March 27, 2023).
Reports here said that the martyred jawan was identified as Vijay Yadav and posted as Bijapur Assistance Platoon Commander (ACP). He is a native of Rajpur village in the Ballia district of Uttar Pradesh state.
In the wake of incidents of Naxalites setting fire to vehicles belonging to road construction and obstructing developmental works, the CAF jawans were out on an area domination operation to ensure security for the road construction works between Etepal and Timenar villages. On noticing the police, the Naxalites exploded a powerful pressure bomb IED blast killing the jawan.
The police pressed into service additional forces and intensified the combing operations in the region. However, the police suspect the Naxalites might have retreated into the jungles.
