ACB traps woman Tahsildar for accepting bribe of Rs 2 lakhs

KARIMNAGAR:  Sleuths of the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) have caught the Kataram tahsildar for demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs 2 lakh for doing official favour in Kataram mandal headquarters in Jayashankar-Bhupalapalli district on Thursday evening.

Reports reaching here said that tahsildar Sunitha had demanded a bribe of Rs 3 lakhs for issuance of online pattadar passbook pertaining to land in survey number 3 in Kothapalli village. The victim Itha Harikrishna had handed over Rs 50,000 initially and on Thursday he went to the office to hand over Rs 2 lakh cash.

Earlier, he had informed the same about the tahsildar demanding a bribe for doing official work with the ACB authorities. Accordingly, the ACB authorities raided the office promises as soon as the tahsildar collected the bribe amount and taken her into custody and conducted chemical tests.  The ACB authorities were further probing into the corruption charges of the tahsildar.
