PEDDAPALLI: Sleuths of Anti-Corruption Bureau have caught a tahsildar, senior assistant and a private person for demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs one lakh for doing official favour in Anthargaon tahsildar office on Monday evening.

Reports reaching here said that the tahsildar Sampath had demanded a bribe of Rs 2 lakhs for conducting land survey and issuance of pattadar passbook from a person. The person approached the ACB, who waylaid and caught the Tahsildar for accepting the bribe through a private person.

The ACB sleuths have taken into custody the senior assistant and the private person and probing further into the corrupt practices in the tahsildar office and harassment of the farmers and others demanding corruption for doing official work. Further details are awaited.
