300 quintals of PDS rice seized, one arrested

KARIMNAGAR: The Karimnagar Commissionerate of Police have arrested a person and seized 300 quintals of rice meant for distribution in the ration shop in Theegalaguttapalli locality on the outskirts of Karimnagar town on Tuesday.
According to Karimnagar Town ACP Tula Srinivas Rao, following credible information about the illegal storage of public distribution scheme (PDS) rice stored in a house in Chandrapuri colony in Theegalaguttapalli, the Task force police raided premises and nabbed the accused P Lavakumar and seized 300 quintals of rice.
On this occasion, the ACP had informed the people of the town to support the police to check the illegal activities such as sand mining, PDS rice, ghutka and other anti-social activities to keep the Karimnagar town safe from all illegal activities. SBI Venkateshwarlu, Task force inspectors Mallaiah, Srujan Reddy and others were also present in the operation.
