KARIMNAGAR: As per the Election Commission guidelines, District election officer and Collector RV Karnan has banned the conduct of exit polls and disseminating the result of exit polls till the completion of by-election to the Huzurabad assembly segment on October 30.
In a statement here today, the Collector said that according to the Peoples Representative Act of 1951 section 126 (a), the conduct of exit polls had been prohibited till 7.30 pm on October 30. The exit poll results should not be published, telecasted or circulated through social media before the completion of elections and any violations would be dealt with seriously as per the Election Commission guidelines, the noted stated.
Publicity vehicles to educate people on Covid norms
On the other hand, the Collector had also flagged two publicity campaign vehicles to educate the people of the Huzurabad assembly segment about the importance of adhering to the Covid norms of wearing a facemask, frequent use of sanitizer and maintaining social distance.
The district medical and health department had deployed two publicity vehicles especially to campaign in the Huzurabad assembly covering each and every village. The medical and health department had also intensified the vaccination of each and every person in the segment. Additional Collector Garima Agarwal, Assistant Collector Mayank Mittal, DMHO Dr Juveria, additional DMHO Dr Sudhakar Reddy and others were also present.
